At the 2022 Xbox and Bethesda showcase, head of Microsoft Gaming Phil Spencer took to the stage to announce a new partnership with Metal Gear Solid and Death Stranding creator Hideo Kojima and his studio, Kojima Productions. The announcement came following a statement from Spencer concerning Xbox’s desire to bring more Japanese game projects to its platforms.
Kojima Productions and Xbox Game Studios will team up for Kojima’s next project.
‘There is a game I have always wanted to make’, said Kojima in a pre-recorded message. ‘It’s a completely new game, one that no one has ever experienced or seen before.’
These comments come after the recent, alleged leak of an upcoming Kojima Productions horror game project, called Overdose.

‘I’ve waited very long for the day when I could finally start to create it,’ Kojima continued. ‘With Microsoft’s cutting edge cloud technology and the change in the industry’s trend, it has now become possible to challenge myself to make this never-before-seen concept.’
‘It may take some time, but I’m looking forward to teaming up with Xbox Game Studios and hope to bring you some exciting news in the future!’
