So, is Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced ever going to be on Game Pass, and can you play it on Ubisoft+ on Day 1?

Ahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Me hearties. Probably the best Assassin’s Creed game of all time has gotten its long-awaited reboot and is boarding us as we speak (er). However, if you are not awash with pirate treasure and are short of a doubloon or two, you will be wanting to know the cheapest way to sail the high seas in a pair of those pants that do, to be honest, look really comfortable.

As we are knee-deep in the world of game subscriptions where you own nothing and need to ‘turn the tap on’ as Hideo Kojima said yesterday to play games these days, surely the horizon is awash with options to merely pay a flat, low monthly fee ™ and not have to stump up full price to own the game (spoiler, you don’t own it anyway), so you may as well.

Let’s look at your options as we walk the plank of nonsense that is game purchasing in the modern world.

Is Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced on Game Pass

Remember the days when you would excited dash to the shop to pick up your copy of the new Assassin’s Creed game only to find they didn’t have it? Remember them fondly and re-enact those times by putting on your coat, walking around the block twice and coming home and loading Game Pass, credit card in hand, only to be faced to no option to get it. That’s Game Pass that is.

At least yet. If you are coming to this page after the great war, when civilization has been forced to rebuild itself in a world without micro transactions, it may well be on Game Pass.

Most of the other Assassin’s Creed games have made their way there after a year or two – just not Day One. You still have to do that thing where you aren’t playing them via Game Pass and have to mess around with Ubisoft Connect as well which is annoying. Maybe if Asha had kept a few of those 3200 people on, maybe somebody could have added sorting that out to their To-Do list.

Anyway, to answer the question. No, no it’s not.

Is Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced on Ubisoft+ on Day 1

Good news captains, the scurvy is receding, although we do still have some measles on board, but you can play Black Flag Resynced for just £14.99 Day One by subscribing to Ubisoft+ – think Ubisoft’s Amazon Prime to Microsoft’s Netflix so there is some yin to the yang.

I actually quite like Ubisoft+ for its range of decent (albeit all) Ubisoft games. It doesn’t warrant staying subbed month-on-month but when the big hitters come out it’s generally worth paying for for a few months at a time so you can save some magic beans.

So yes, like all Ubi releases you can get them for that monthly sub at much cheaper rates than buying (sure) it outright. Of course if you are having to add Ubisoft+ on top of your Game Pass sub for the solution, you are still putting a fair chunk of your monthlies into the ether.
