Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced system requirements reveal a pretty but demanding remake

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is bringing back Edward Kenway for another round of sea shanty singing, but if you’re thinking it is a simple touch-up of the 2013 classic, you’re going to have a bit of a shock when you see the system requirements.

Ubisoft has dramatically revamped Black Flag Resynced, with improved visuals, ray tracing, modern upscaling options, and more, certainly translating into what kind of setup you’ll need to play the game.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced minimum PC requirements

If you just want to get the game running in a playable state, the minimum requirements target 1080p at 30 FPS on the Low preset, with Ray Tracing set to Standard and the upscaler on Balanced.

You’ll need 16 GB of RAM and 65 GB of SSD storage to start things off. On the CPU side, the AMD Ryzen 5 3600 or Intel Core i7-8700K is the baseline, paired with an AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT, Intel ARC A580, or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 as your GPU.

Obviously, these components are a few years old at this point, so you’re probably good to go with your current rig, but the fact this is the floor could be a little worrying.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced recommended and 1440p requirements

For 1080p at 60 FPS on the Medium preset, the recommended specs do stay somewhat manageable. You’ll still need 16 GB RAM and 65 GB SSD space, alongside a Ryzen 5 3600 or Intel Core i5-10600K. GPU requirements jump to an AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT, Intel ARC B580, or NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060, though.

However, if you want 1440p at 60 FPS on the High preset, things get much more meaty. This setup requires a Ryzen 5 5600X or Intel Core i5-11600K, plus either an AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT or NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080.

Black Flag Resynced 4K requirements are no joke

The top-end 4K configuration targets 2160p at 60 FPS on Ultra, with Ray Tracing bumped up to Extended and the upscaler set to Quality.

For that, you’ll need a Ryzen 7 5700X3D or Intel Core i5-12700K, alongside an AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX or NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090.

Since we’re in a world where every bit of tech is being inflated into oblivion, these 4K specs will likely be unobtainable for some. You might be able to squeeze that resolution out of the aforementioned 1440p setup, potentially at a lower framerate, but we’re not guaranteeing anything.

Regardless, though, even if you’re playing in 1080p, Black Flag Resynced is far prettier than that of the original. And if you’re diving in for the first time, you’re in for a real treat.
