Can MECCHA CHAMELEON be played on mobile, or are you bound to PC?

MECCHA CHAMELEON is looking like it is shaping up to be the next big thing in hide-and-seek games, with its artist twist that’s making the experience that bit funnier.

With popular streamers making sure player counts are popping day by day, it’s only natural that everyone is looking to get in on the action, even in the mobile department.

But can you get MECCHA CHAMELEON on your phone? Or are you going to have to boot up the PC to try and perfectly blend in with the scenery?

Is MECCHA CHAMELEON on iOS or Android?

The short answer is sadly no, MECCHA CHAMELEON is not officially available on iOS or Android. At the time of writing, the game is only officially available through Steam, meaning PC is the intended way to play.

This is especially important to know because there are already apps appearing on mobile storefronts that appear to be using the MECCHA CHAMELEON name, and even its branding. These should be 100% avoided. If you see a MECCHA CHAMELEON app on the App Store or Google Play, it is not the official version of the game and should be treated as suspicious at best.

With popular indie games, this kind of thing happens a lot, especially when it comes to friendslop-like titles. Some are low-effort clones, and others can potentially be scams where your device is at risk.

There is, however, technically a way to try and get MECCHA CHAMELEON playable on mobile devices, but this involves using emulators or workaround software rather than an official mobile port. Even then, it is far from a clean experience, where you’ll run into problems with Steam logins, performance, controls, online servers, and general compatibility, which makes it more hassle than it is worth for most.

Until the developer announces an official iOS or Android version, avoid mobile apps claiming to be the real thing and stick with the proper Steam release.
