Halo: Campaign Evolved has early access, and here’s how you can get it

Even though Halo: Campaign Evolved is essentially another reimagining of the original from 2001, there are certainly enough people buzzing around it.

It does have shiny new graphics and even an additional set of prologue missions, so there are definitely a few reasons to go back and play as Master Chief in his Mark V armor once again.

If you are hyped, you’ll want to start playing as soon as possible, and luckily for you, there is an early access period for Halo: Campaign Evolved to be taken advantage of.

Halo: Campaign Evolved early access, explained

If you are up for getting into Halo: Campaign Evolved ahead of the masses, just like the vast majority of games today, you will have to cough up the cash in order to be eligible.

That’s because the only way you can start playing before the official release date is by owning either the Premium Edition or upgrading to the aptly named Premium Edition Upgrade.

The Upgrade is likely the avenue you’ll want to go down if you’re a Game Pass subscriber since you’ll ‘have’ the Standard Edition already, costing you much less overall, and still getting the benefits.

Alongside early access, these Premium Edition benefits include a few other digital goodies such as the Alpha Halo Armory Pack, Digital Art Book, Hungry Buzzards Digital Short Story, and Digital Game Manual.

If you have the correct edition secured, you will be able to play starting when July 23, 2026, rolls around in your region. This is a whole five days before everyone who is waiting for the standard launch, meaning if you’re dedicated enough, you might end up wrapping up the story ahead of those friends not willing to shell out the extra money.

Obviously, if you’re keen on early access, you’ll also net the pre-order bonus, which is another carrot to nibble on, and one that, if you played the original, definitely evokes some nice nostalgia.
