Game over man: Sega reveals massive Gamescom 2026 line-up led by Alien: Isolation 2

Sega has revealed its Gamescom 2026 plans, with Alien: Isolation 2, Persona 4 Revival and Total War: Warhammer 40,000 among the games attendees will be able to play.

The publisher will take over part of Hall 7 at Cologne’s Koelnmesse from August 26 to August 30. Sega is promising five themed areas containing playable demos, photo opportunities, challenges and merchandise giveaways.

Alien: Isolation 2 will make its European public hands-on debut during the event. Visitors will be able to play the game’s prologue inside a booth designed to capture its claustrophobic, lo-fi science-fiction atmosphere.

The original Alien: Isolation was released in 2014 and followed Amanda Ripley as she attempted to survive encounters with a relentless Xenomorph aboard Sevastopol Station. Its sequel will therefore be one of Sega’s most closely watched games at this year’s show.

Persona 4 Revival and Crazy Taxi will be playable

Crazy Taxi: World Tour will also be available to play, giving fans an early look at one of the five cities included in the full game. Sega says the demo will retain the chaotic energy of the original Crazy Taxi titles while introducing a new globetrotting adventure.

The Yellow Jack taxi will also appear at the booth as part of a dedicated photo opportunity.

Persona 4 Revival will give Western players their first chance to try the upcoming remake of Atlus’ acclaimed RPG. Its section of the booth will recreate the Junes shopping centre, with visitors also invited to leave messages on a live television display. As yet there is no mention of anything Persona 6 related.

Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s Stranger Than Heaven is receiving its first public hands-on demo. The game’s area will be themed around an underground jazz club, complete with a stage-based photo opportunity.

Stranger Than Heaven producer Hiroyuki Sakamoto and director Mikinobu Abe will also attend Gamescom for a series of fan signing sessions.

Completing Sega’s five main attractions is Total War: Warhammer 40,000. Creative Assembly’s recently announced strategy game will make its hands-on debut through three playable scenarios focused on the Imperium’s Space Marines.

Sega passport rewards Gamescom visitors

Visitors will receive a physical Sega passport that can be stamped after experiencing each of the five main game areas. Anyone collecting all five stamps will receive a limited-edition Sega token. That sounds like a lot of queuing to me.

Several other games will be included in the booth’s free-play area.

Metaphor: ReFantazio will be playable on Nintendo Switch 2, while Total War: Warhammer 3 will showcase its Lords of the End Times expansion. Sega will also present the latest version of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, including the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Pack.

The recently announced second season pass for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is expected to deliver further crossover content following the conclusion of the game’s original DLC schedule.

Cooperative spin-off Sonic Pico Park will round out the free-play selection.

Gamescom 2026 will take place in Cologne from August 26 to August 30, following Opening Night Live on August 25. Sega says it will share announcements and footage from the event across its social media channels for those unable to attend in person.
