Marvel Rivals – The Death of Gambit case guide

The third and final piece of Death of Apocalypse is here, with the Death of Gambit now unlocked in Marvel Rivals. The final tasks should help you determine the missing pieces of the Apocalypse mystery and get the free event rewards. Here’s how to quickly solve the Death of Gambit.

How to complete the Death of Gambit investigation in Marvel Rivals

Once again, head over to the Events tab and check the Death of Apocalypse event mode. From there, select the Gambit mission in the bottom right and you’re on your way. Click on all the shiny evidence pieces on the main tab. There’s one hidden on Gambit’s chest that can be easy to miss.

With all the evidence gathered, you now need to input the following.

Persons of interest:

  • Gambit
  • The Hood
  • Black Panther

Case description should now be as follows:

  • Apocalypse
  • Tablet of Death and Entropy
  • Handgun
  • The Hood
  • Oblivion
  • Bullet
  • Oblivion’s Power
  • Corpses
  • Cosmic Energy
  • Black Panther

It should now complete the mystery and get you the third poster card for completing it as your reward.

Completing this, along with the Death of Wolverine and Death of Psylocke events, should grant access to the final piece. That’s fairly straightforward, awarding 100 Units as a reward, ready to spend in the store alongside other Units. Not bad for free-to-play players.

In terms of lore, the event is once again teasing that The Hood is going to be the next playable hero in the game. He has appeared in leaks and datamines before. In recent seasonal events he has had comic appearances with Kingpin, alongside a mysterious Red Hood. This comic also shows him back with his pistols, hinting he’s probably a Duelist if he’s taking down Gambit with enhanced Oblivion-powered bullets. Again, no confirmation just yet, but it will be interesting to see what NetEase announces for The Hood, likely in the next month or so as Season 9 continues.
