Take-Two stocks jump 4% from simply announcing GTA 6 pre-orders will go live next week

Today, Rockstar Games announced that GTA 6 pre-orders are going live on June 25th, with the game now finally starting to feel real. And the stock market has noticed.

Take-Two Interactive has had its stock pumped by around 4% at the time of writing, which might seem small but is huge for those who have been holding large amounts of shares for a while.

It’s worth noting that Take-Two has not actually let people buy the game yet. Hell, it hasn’t even announced the price of the game either, nor any editions, or anything like that. Simply, it dropped the cover art alongside a confirmed pre-order date next week.

The news hit the world pretty fast, with the stock market jumping almost instantly as the announcement came out. It did increase to $238.94 a share as the stock opened, but has since fallen back down to $237 a share. Still, that’s roughly 4% up from yesterday’s close, in what is often a fairly static stock position compared to the other big tech giants on the NASDAQ.

If this is the reaction to Take-Two awakening its sleeping giant, then imagine what the reaction is going to be like when GTA 6 pre-orders do open, and the company actually starts stating its pre-order figures in August’s 2026Q1 reports.

Chances are, Take-Two is due a few different GTA-related stock price spikes between now and when its Q3 results come in, where GTA 6’s release date sits. And then, when the PC port does get launched, the money printer that will become will likely continue Take-Two’s stable stock success.

All we can say is, Take-Two was not lying when it said marketing will start in the summer. Given the summer solstice is this Sunday, they are bang on time to get the GTA hype train rolling.
