Jacob has been gaming since the original Game Boy was placed in his hands. Due to his passion for the field, writing talent, and a keen eye for SEO, he made his games journalism debut in 2019. When he isn’t playing the latest titles, he is tinkering with retro tech to bring it into the modern era.
After weeks, months, and years of waiting, GTA 6 is actually arriving this time, and on the November 19 date that many were skeptical about, even after plenty of reassurances from Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick.
Now, seemingly completely out of the blue, the game is going to be available for pre-orders, but you’ll have to hold on just a few more days.
GTA 6 up for pre-order next week
In true Rockstar Games fashion, the developer has just gone and dropped that pre-orders will be available starting June 25, 2026, for both Xbox Series X|S and PS5, dropping the mic on the way out.
The news was simply thrown onto the interwebs, across various official social media channels, stating that the June 25 pre-orders can be scooped up “on digital storefronts and at other select retailers,” alongside a full cover art reveal video.
The cover art falls right in line with all of the previous games, featuring blocky, almost cell-shaded images of in-game characters, animals, and vehicles that you’ll become familiar with in your Leonida escapades.
What’s more, there’s a sneak peek at what might be the main menu theme of GTA 6, and it’s certainly vibey.
It’s got the 80s Vice City feels, which I’m a huge fan of, only amplifying my hype even more for cruising around the streets in a Cheetah.
Obviously, the big question mark around an inevitable PC release is still very much up in the air. But based on previous launches and the fact that Take-Two will want to squeeze every penny out of the title, this will likely become available around a year in.
If you want to dig around for any more information, the official Rockstar Games website has been updated with a fancy new landing page for GTA 6, with buttons at the bottom, allowing you to wishlist on your respective platform of choice.
