If you want to make Panthalus yours, here’s how to get it in Palworld 1.0

The 1.0 version of Palworld is almost like a brand new start for the game, with so much more to see and do.

Alongside the likes of mission reworks, mechanic improvements, and overall balancing, there are a whole host of new Pals to discover. As you’d expect, though, some are far more desirable than others.

One such Pal is Panthalus, who is not only an ancient beast but also has some of the best attributes in the game.

How to get Panthalus in Palworld 1.0

If you’re looking to add another high-level Pal to your collection, Panthalus is a fantastic choice. It’s a Water Element creature that looks the part, as well as being mountable right from the off, meaning you can take it to the skies without needing a saddle.

It is however, not a Pal that is roaming around, you’ll need to ‘unlock’ it by making your way through a quest.

To get things going, you’ll first need to travel to Sunreach Island and speak to the Ancient Civilization Researcher found on the Deserted Islet. This NPC starts the quest that eventually leads to the Legendary Pal, although you can actually collect the required quest items before speaking to them if you already know where they are.

The researcher tasks you with finding four ancient Echobones, each hidden beside the glowing skeleton of a massive whale.

The four Echobones are located at:

  • Marine Echobone: Windswept Hills (124, -524)
  • Silent Echobone: Near Verdant Brook (356, -111)
  • Seafoam Echobone: Mount Obsidian (-515, -545)
  • Tidewind Echobone: Astral Mountains (-265, 483)

Once you’ve collected all four Echobones, head back to the Ancient Civilization Researcher.

They’ll reward you with the Faded Schematic, allowing you to craft the Echoing Flute at any workbench. This allows you to ‘summon’ Panthalus, beginning the encounter, so without it, you won’t be able to fight the Legendary Pal.

Once you’re transported into the arena to fight Panthalus, you have a 10-minute time limit to get the job done. You’ll need to deal consistent damage instead of playing too defensively, and we recommend going in with strong Electric Pals to exploit the fact that it is a Water Element creature. Fortunately, once you’ve successfully defeated the encounter, capturing Panthalus is guaranteed, removing any question of whether you’ll make it yours or not.
