Best early teams in Cooke Run: Crumble, explained

Cookie Run: Crumble is now out, and it appears the game balance is once again pushing players toward certain SSR characters to get the best team compositions rolling.

From what we’ve seen so far, supports are kings in the current meta and will define certain playstyles the most as you begin to clear through levels and floors. Here’s a closer look at the best Cookie Run: Crumble team compositions, based on community sentiment and what the devs think, too.

Best early teams in Cookie Run: Crumble

Prior to launch, the devs shared a press kit offering some insight into what they perceive to be the strongest team comps. There were quite a few there, ranging from solo boss compositions to different team comp styles and more. While they all seem solid, we had to trim it down, and right now, it seems supports are by far the best characters in the game.

We’ve narrowed it down to the main team comps built around those key support heroes.

Poison Stacking Team (Volley + Duration Synergy)

  • Core characters:
    • Scorpion Cookie,
    • Tiger Lily Cookie,
    • Milk Cookie’s Crunchy Strong Paediatrician
  • Recommended Pet:
    • Octo Wasabi

This is one of two builds from the press briefing built around a support that has since proven far more important than the initial pitch let on. The briefing frames it as a poison DoT comp, so if you like the more damage-over-time style of gameplay, this one is perfectly valid. It is also a decent boss-killing team, with all the ramping damage over time effects doing serious work.

Scorpion Cookie applies stacking poison through repeated needle hits, while Tiger Lily Cookie grants Volley Synergy so Scorpion Cookie can fire more needles per volley. Milk Cookie’s Crunchy Strong Paediatrician rounds it out with healing and Duration Synergy, extending both the transformation and the shared buffs. The healing through sustained DoT damage ensures your comp stays alive, thanks to all those strong poisons and extensions the other parts of the team bring.

Octo Wasabi then stretches the poison duration further, keeping DPS consistent across the fight.

Milk Cookie’s Crunchy Strong Paediatrician is doing the most work here to get the comp rolling. Her ability grants stacking +6% ATK up to ten times, which works out to a potential 60% ATK increase for the team. Her gummies also heal for 18.2% ATK, which continuously scales alongside the rest of the composition.

Projectile Speed Team

  • Core characters:
    • Lemon Cookie,
    • Pomegranate Cookie,
    • Cream Soda Cookie
  • Recommended Pet:
    • Furball Pup

The second build is worth a closer look. You are essentially running a projectile damage build that enables more hits and more bounces within the same window. Pomegranate Cookie buffs allies’ skills while increasing projectile speed, Furball Pup adds more speed on top through its passive, and both Lemon Cookie’s bouncing shots and Cream Soda Cookie’s expanding waves become considerably more effective as a result, covering more enemies and reaching further across the field.

If you don’t have Lemon Cookie or Cream Soda, find anything else that sends out projectiles, and it will probably work fine. Again, the support seems to enable certain playstyles the most in this game so far.

Pomegranate Cookie’s main job is to apply Pomegranate Magic, which grants an ATK increase to allies through its red beam effect and then grants Projectile Speed Synergy on top. This grants 75% ATK speed synergy at 46.5% of Pomegranate’s ATK, all lasting for nine seconds. The ability itself has a ten second cooldown, meaning that it is a very large buff active for roughly 90% of combat.

That is why Pomegranate is so crucial for this composition style to work.

Hopefully these builds help highlight the best teams in Cookie Run: Crumble and get you those strong playstyles sorted early. If you unlock high-tier supports, it is always worth checking what characters you have available and seeing what best fits that playstyle. Chances are you will be onto something.
