Marvel Rivals has released the teaser trailer for the upcoming Path to Doomsday content update, Avengers: Age of Ultron. The roughly 90-second trailer showcases gameplay mechanics and what to expect from the new mode launching July 30-31st, depending on location.
Marvel Rivals shares a few teasers from the upcoming Age of Ultron mode
The new trailer showcases the Avengers Tower under attack. Various enemies are shown assaulting the tower, including metallic humanoids, flying drones and large floating ships among others. The end of the trailer does show Ultron, indicating he is likely the final boss of the new mode.
As for playable characters, the trailer shows various Avengers heroes. It starts with Captain America before jumping between Black Widow, Iron Man and Bruce Banner, ending on Scarlet Witch. These are at least the confirmed playable heroes, though there could be more to reveal before it launches on July 31st.
Scarlet Witch also gets a new skin too, inspired from the 2015 film.
The mode appears to differ from Blood Hunt, the other PvE mode currently running in the Events tab. One key difference is that heroes get new character-specific abilities for this mode. Iron Man is shown firing a barrage of rockets at countless waves of Ultron forces in the tower, suggesting abilities are tailored to the encounter rather than pulled directly from the standard kit.
The mode also features a new interface element showing at least three health kits available to use in a pinch, adding a resource management layer to the PvE experience.
Other than that, plenty of mystery remains around the Age of Ultron PvE mode. Where are Thor and Hawkeye? What are Wanda’s abilities in this mode? There are still many things left unanswered, which is all the more reason to tune in and test things out when it launches on July 30-31st, depending on when the patch went live.
It comes as part of Season 9 roadmap. If you need other events to complete, make sure to complete the Death of Apocalypse too and grab yourself 100 free premium currency along the way.
