Start saving – Star Wars Zero Company gets a $300 Collector’s Edition with an electronic thermal detonator

Star Wars Zero Company already has Standard and Deluxe Editions available to pre-order, but Limited Run Games has now entered the battle with an eye-wateringly expensive physical Collector’s Edition.
Priced at a hefty old $299.99, the Star Wars Zero Company Collector’s Edition is being offered for PlayStation 5, Xbox and PC. Its centrepiece is a variant Star Wars Black Series electronic thermal detonator, accompanied by a SteelBook, enormous desk mat and enough smaller collectables to fill out a premium foil-stamped box. It’s worth pointing out, however, that there is no physical copy of the game included for the PC – just a silly old Steam code.
Pre-orders remain open until August 23, 2026, shortly before Star Wars Zero Company launches on August 27. Here is what you get with every edition of the game and how the extremely expensive Collector’s Edition compares.

The Standard and Deluxe Editions are available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The PC version can be purchased through Steam, the EA App and the Epic Games Store, while the console versions are available through the PlayStation and Xbox storefronts.
What is included in the Standard Edition?
The Star Wars Zero Company Standard Edition contains the complete base game, with no campaign missions or playable characters currently listed as exclusive to more expensive versions.
Pre-ordering the Standard Edition also includes the Crystalline Astromech Cosmetic Pack. This adds an R3 droid, translucent crystalline heads for the R4 and R5 astromech variants, and the BR-1 droid being introduced in Zero Company.
The Standard Edition costs $49.99 on PC and $59.99 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
What is included in the Deluxe Edition?
The Deluxe Edition costs $10 more than the Standard Edition and adds three sets of cosmetic content if that’s your thing, and as ever, my advice would be, just don’t.
The Grand Army of the Republic Cosmetic Pack includes:
- Republic Officer Uniform
- 100th Clone Company armour set
- ARC Trooper armour set
The Shadow Collective Cosmetic Pack contains a Pyke helmet and five tattoo designs based on the Pyke Syndicate, Hutt Cartel, Death Watch, Black Sun Syndicate and Crimson Dawn.
Players also receive five painted weapon themes inspired by the 100th Clone Company, Kafrene Informants, Black Sun enforcers, Bespin Security and Separatist warriors. None of these additions are described as offering a gameplay advantage.
The Deluxe Edition is priced at $59.99 on PC and $69.99 on consoles. Pre-orders also receive the same Crystalline Astromech Cosmetic Pack offered with the Standard Edition.
What comes with the $299.99 Collector’s Edition?
Now, here’s the one you are probably here for. The Limited Run Games Collector’s Edition costs $299.99 across PS5, Xbox and PC. Now, as you know, we are all about keeping physical editions alive, but this is still more of a collector’s item than keeping the dream alive for physical media.
Inside the enormous premium box, once you have handed over the cash, you will get:
- Star Wars Zero Company
- Deluxe Edition upgrade
- Premium foil-stamped Collector’s Edition box
- SteelBook
- Retro jewel case
- Variant Black Series electronic thermal detonator
- Thermal detonator display stand and instructions
- 31-inch by 12-inch desk mat

- Zero Company logo pin

- Patches
- Certificate of authenticity
Console buyers will receive a physical copy of the game, which Limited Run says will be shipped separately ahead of the rest of the Collector’s Edition. PC buyers will instead receive a Steam code by email on the official release date. Deluxe Edition upgrade codes will also be delivered electronically.
That arrangement should prevent customers from having to wait for the complete physical package before playing, which is just as well because the Collector’s Edition is currently listed as being in pre-production.
The thermal detonator is the main attraction
The most substantial item in the box is a variant edition of Hasbro’s Black Series electronic thermal detonator.
Based on the grenade-like weapon appearing in Zero Company, the prop has weathered decoration, two different lighting modes and an accompanying display stand. Holding the upper button switches between the standard setting and a “droid popper” mode.
An explosion sound sequence can be activated by pressing the button, tossing the detonator or shaking it after it has been armed. It requires three LR41 button-cell batteries, which are not included.
The thermal detonator is doing a considerable amount of work when it comes to justifying the price. There is no large character statue, replica helmet or art book in the package, leaving the remainder of the box to be filled by the SteelBook, desk mat, pins, patches and character cards.
Star Wars collectors are rarely known for their resistance to an impressive display piece, though, and an electronic thermal detonator is undoubtedly more interesting than yet “another” Star Wars figure. $300 though? Cripes.
When do Collector’s Edition pre-orders close?
Pre-orders for the Star Wars Zero Company Collector’s Edition close on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at 11.59pm Eastern Time.
Limited Run describes it as a region-free release and does not currently impose a purchase limit. However, the company also warns that the Collector’s Edition is still being manufactured and that its artwork may change before shipping.
Star Wars Zero Company launches on August 27, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox. Developed by Bit Reactor in collaboration with Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm Games, it is a single-player turn-based tactics game set during the closing stages of the Clone Wars.
