Summer Game Fest, the annual celebration of all things video games, has finally been dated – and it’s basically taking the spot of E3 2022, which was unceremoniously cancelled earlier in the year. The show will take place on 9-10 June 2022 around the world, and there should be plenty worth chatting about when it airs.
According to organiser and host Geoff Keighley, this year’s fest will be a ‘cross-industry showcase’ including plenty of game announcements, reveals, and the return of the Day of the Devs indie game showcase. Given the fest has only slim competition this year, it presumably has free rein to spread its wings.
Typically, there’s a number of exciting new games announced during this show, making it an excellent idea to tune in, no matter how early it airs in your region. There’s still plenty of spots left on the 2022 gaming calendar, and it’s likely we’ll see some of them filled in this June.
