Shadows of Doubt Game

Immersive detective sim Shadows of Doubt is officially exiting early access on 26 September 2024, with the full version of the game set to arrive packed with new features. For players yet to jump into its procedurally-generated action, it’ll be the perfect chance to see why Shadows of Doubt was one of the sleeper hits of 2023.

In the four-star early access GamesHub review, we called Shadow of Doubt an astounding game that reached ambitious heights, thanks to its combination of immersive gameplay and impactful procedural generation.

“A few rough edges don’t prevent Shadows of Doubt from being incredibly unique, interesting, and utterly enthralling,” reviewer Chris Lawn wrote. “It’s a game that manages to pull off a level of depth and complexity of simulation in the service of generative gameplay and storytelling that few other games have even attempted, and without any smoke and mirrors, too – it simply does the thing at an incredible scale.”

“First-person open-world detective game Shadows of Doubt is, even in its current early access state, an impressive technical and mechanical accomplishment.”

Even in early access, the game impressed, so we’re very excited to see what developer ColePowered Games has planned for the full release. While there has been some updates since we penned our review – new building and location types, new NPC dialogue, new clues, new cases – there’ll be plenty more to explore when the game exits early access.

In even better news, ColePowered Games has also confirmed Shadows of Doubt will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on 26 September, with all players invited to experience the game’s 1.0 launch.

ColePowered is currently going full steam ahead with plans for this launch, and for future content to expand the game. “Please take our word that there’s some really cool stuff coming your way!” the developer said. For now, keen players will have to stay patient to see what’s in store.
