Games Connect Asia Pacific (GCAP) is returning to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, after a pandemic year online. In 2021, Asia-Pacific’s largest games industry conference will take place 4-6 October as part of Melbourne International Games Week, featuring talks, panels and workshops from game developers and industry adjacent professionals, both locally and abroad.
The event will feature GCAP Loading, a curated track for people starting their journey into the industry, GCAP Invest as a connection point to investors and Government Congress to share knowledge, connection and ideas with Federal, State and Local government staff and departments.

IGEA, who are convening GCAP, described the theme as an opportunity ‘to grow, mature, move forward and build on our reputation as both a highly creative and skilled sector, as well as a thriving community.’
Their announcement continued: ‘The Australian game development industry is poised to go beyond their established limits. United, we can raise our potential, reach for success and smash expectations both professionally and personally.’
The Australian Game Developer Awards (AGDAs) will also take place in person once more, on the final day of the conference, Wednesday 6 October.
Tickets for GCAP and award submissions for the AGDAs will open soon.
