There’s no beating around the bush: Souls-like games are some of the most engrossing titles when done well. So, when Mortal Shell 2 was announced, there was a reason why people were hyped.
If you’re one of these, or are just curious about what the sequel has to offer, there are some pre-order bonuses on offer for securing a copy ahead of the game’s release date.
What is the Mortal Shell 2 pre-order bonus?
Pre-ordering Mortal Shell 2 will get you the Skeletal and Obsidian Harbringer skins, both of which can be applied in-game.
These appear to be purely cosmetic additions, so you’re not getting stronger weapons, bonus currency, or anything else that will make the opening hours any easier. Considering Mortal Shell’s reputation for being rather unforgiving, you’ll still need to put the work in yourself.

If you like having a few extra cosmetic options from day one, though, the two skins are a nice little incentive for securing your copy ahead of release.
You’ll also be seeing these skins pretty much anytime you’re not in a ‘Shell’ so it’s not like you’ll be using them once and then upgrading almost instantly.
If you are thinking of pre-ordering the more expensive Devout Edition, you’ll also receive up to 72 hours of early access, allowing you to start playing several days before Mortal Shell 2 officially launches on August 20.
This is technically another pre-order bonus, since you’ll only get it for pre-purchasing the game, but let’s just say that’s a bit of a stretch.
If you’re still undecided on which to go for, there’s no need to blindly throw down a pre-order. Mortal Shell 2 has an Open Beta available to try, giving you the chance to get some hands-on time and see whether the sequel clicks with you before committing your hard-earned cash.
