Mortal Shell 2 is throwing you back into the grim world of ghastly enemies and false gods, where you’ll have to utilize Shells to survive.
If you like the sound of some hacking your way through another Souls-like, hopefully taking down the ghouls that lie in wait, you’ll want to get a copy of the game in your library as soon as possible.
As always, though, there are different editions on offer, albeit not a crazy number to pick from.
There are just two Mortal Shell 2 editions available to pick from: Standard and Devout, with the latter obviously differing from the usual naming conventions.
Looking initially at the Standard Edition, this one is exactly what it says on the tin. You’re getting the full Mortal Shell 2 game, and that’s it – no frills, just plain old gameplay to sink your teeth into.
Now, if you were a fan of the first game in the series or have been playing the beta and really gelling with what Cold Symmetry has cooked up for the sequel, you might want to throw even more cash down on a copy.
This is where the Devout Edition comes in, costing $10 more than the basic Standard variant.
For the extra $10, you’ll get the Obsidian Skin Pack containing 8 skins for the Shells that can be utilized in-game. What’s more, if you choose to pre-purchase the Devout Edition, you’ll also receive up to 72 hours of early access, meaning you could play as soon as August 17, 2026.
Pre-ordering, no matter the edition, will also net you the Obsidian Skin for the Harbringer, too, completing the full menacing blacked-out look, if that’s what you’re going for. Also, regardless of which you choose, at least they’re both priced below the $70 we’re used to today.
