Beast of Reincarnation is a pretty dramatic departure from the creature-catching Game Freak is known for, but the company is making things pretty simple when it comes to the game’s editions.
There are just two Beast of Reincarnation editions to choose from, with the Standard Edition being the basic option, and the Deluxe Edition throwing in several additional in-game goodies.
Thankfully, neither version appears overly complicated, although the wording surrounding the game’s pre-order bonuses could certainly be clearer.
The Beast of Reincarnation Standard Edition simply includes the base game.
This is the version to choose if you want to dip your toe into what Game Freak has cooked up outside of the Pokémon franchise but don’t want to go gung-ho on securing any additional cosmetics.
Thankfully, anyone who pre-orders the Standard Edition will still receive the game’s pre-order bonus; it’s not tied to the more expensive Deluxe option.
The Beast of Reincarnation Deluxe Edition includes the base game alongside a selection of additional items for both Emma and Koo.

The Alternate Black Shiba Skin gives Koo a darker appearance, while the Big Dipper sword and Oni’s Hat provide Emma with a bit more flair right out of the gate.
You’ll also receive 100,000 Amber, which is used as in-game currency, and Vegetable Seedlings that can be put to use during your adventure.
What’s not stated is whether those items for Emma have any additional bonuses tied to them, for example, increased damage or more health. Hopefully there’s some clarity on this, but we might have to wait until the game’s launch to learn more.
As for what I meant about the pre-order bonus being slightly misleading, on the official image for the Deluxe Edition, it looks like everything is a pre-order bonus for said version when, in fact, it’s the contents of the more premium option.
Might just be me, though, the coffee isn’t hitting as much as it usually is…
