Nintendo will stream a new Indie World Showcase today, 28 October, at 7am Pacific time (1am AEDT on Thursday 29 October) on its official YouTube channel, with the presentation set to run for roughly 15 minutes.
Nintendo says the broadcast will carry new announcements and updates on indie games coming to both Nintendo Switch 2 and the original Nintendo Switch. Because it is an indie showcase, the reveals come from Nintendo’s third-party partners rather than its own studios.
The timing closes a long gap in the format: the last Indie World Showcase ran in March, and the seven months in between have been filled by full-length Nintendo Direct presentations instead. In a year that has belonged to Switch 2 headlines, today is one of the few moments the indie partners get the spotlight to themselves.
What to expect, and what not to
Nintendo has revealed none of the games appearing in the showcase, so the lineup is a genuine surprise. Indie World events do have a track record of surprise launches, though: the March showcase included a shadow drop of Blue Prince, the roguelite puzzler from Dogubomb and Raw Fury, straight onto Switch 2.
The showcase streams worldwide on Nintendo’s YouTube channel from 7am Pacific on 28 October (1am AEDT on 29 October) and runs about 15 minutes.
