If you are one of those people who believe in alternate universes, then we can assume that somewhere, in one of them, GTA 6 is already out. It’s probably even on the Switch 2.
In our boring old slice, however, we are still waiting for the next trailer to drop, which seems to be generating more excitement than the release of many games right now. Of course, we don’t know what will be in it. We can probably guess it will be 60 seconds long and contain several cut-scenes to pore over and look for clues that may or may not be hidden within. Either way, Rockstar is keeping its cards close to its chest.
One chap on Reddit is on to them, however. They have been charting every Rockstar trailer drop since 2007 against.. (deep breath) planetary alignment, and think they may have discovered something wild.
It seems there is something about the position of Pluto and Neptune and a few other bits of hokum that suggests, with a new degree of accuracy, when the next GTA VI trailer will drop.
When is the next GTA 6 trailer out (according to the planets?)

The date we all need to put into our calendars (and if this turns out to be correct, well I’ll be a changed man when it comes to reading a daily horoscope) is Thursday, May 14 at 11 AM EDT. So not long to wait then.
This feels a bit like one of those end of the world cults that convince themselves the Rapture is already commuting in from out of town and getting off at the next stop and then… well, nothing…
Why do we care about GTA 6 trailers?
I’ve been doing this a long time, and the clamor to see a new pre-cut, show you what they want you to see trailer has never been as big as this, as I recall, especially as there isn’t even a sign of a PC release.
The new GTA trailer may point to the game being closer to being released, and even point to the fact that it might hit its launch window at the end of the year. But we are being marketed to. The trailers may well have all been created two years ago, and the PR machine is deciding when to drop for maximum hype. If the game hadn’t slipped, we probably would have already had all the trailers we could dream of, just like in those other realities.
