No Rest For The Wicked release date window revealed for October on PC and PS5

Moon Studios has announced that the No Rest for the Wicked release date is set for sometime in October 2026 on PC and PlayStation 5. The announcement comes two years after the action RPG first entered Early Access in April 2024, and nearly two million players later, with the news dropping during the State of Play event in June 2026.

What to expect with No Rest for the Wicked’s release date

With No Rest for the Wicked leaving Early Access, it marks a major milestone for the game’s development. Moon Studios is describing it as a massive expansion of the core game, adding over 60 hours of new content on top of what Early Access players have already played, building to approximately 100 hours total for players who want to see everything.

The full release brings more than fifteen hand-crafted regions to explore, a completely overhauled class and progression system, new weapons, bosses and enemies, a horde mode, and the final story arc. Moon Studios described the ending as the conclusion players have been theorizing about since 2024, with fully hand-crafted cinematic scenes closing out the narrative. Persistent multiplayer with private realms, endgame content for dedicated players, and full crossplay and cross-save between PC and console all come with 1.0 at launch.

For anyone who buys the game before July 10th, 2026, all Early Access purchases will be automatically upgraded to a free Founders Pack at no extra cost, redeemable when 1.0 launches.

The Founders Pack includes the Spirit Cavern, an exclusive hideout that Moon Studios describes as bridging worlds and serving as a unique home within Isola Sacra. It also includes Sayer’s Vow, a unique sword described as lost to time and only obtainable by Founders. On top of that, Founders get a unique account tag with a special frame and font, and access to beta test realms for future updates even after 1.0 launches, giving them an ongoing say in where the game goes next. PlayStation 5 players can access the Founders Pack rewards, too, if they pre-order in time.

No Rest for the Wicked is currently on sale on Steam at 30% off, bringing it down to £24.49, and picking it up before July 10th locks in the Founders Pack upgrade. It has had a few updates since its Early Access launch, so getting it on sale is probably worth it to get a feel for the game if you have been sitting on the fence.

You will get to try the Dark Souls meets dungeon crawler gameplay it is built around, experiment with builds and gear, all before the massive revamp that aims to improve the placeholder Early Access systems currently in place. Those systems will still form core parts of the game’s design, but they will be much more developed than the Early Access versions. Moon Studios has also mentioned they would love to hold their own Exile or BlizzCon-style event at some point, so there is clearly an ambitious vision for the game’s future worth keeping an eye on.

Finally, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 are confirmed to be getting the game. However, release dates for either version are currently unknown and neither will make the October window alongside PC and PS5. It’s not something totally unexpected however, as the devs stated PS5 and PC was the main focus of the game in last year’s Q/A about dev cycles. Noticeably, Xbox Series X|S performance woes have been a common optimization issue for many devs, and the Switch 2 is also its own kettle of fish to optimize a game for. That’s more than likely the reason why getting a release date for No Rest For The Wicked on those platforms remains a much longer term goal.
