Apex Legends Mobile is officially launching worldwide in May, following a limited release in select markets earlier in 2022. This version of the game has been built from the ground up for iOS and Android devices, and has already enjoyed lengthy player tests in Australia, New Zealand, and other countries. The worldwide rollout will now extend to players in the US, UK and beyond – spicing up the existing player pool with some fresh competition.

For those who’ve yet to experience the game, this is essentially a redesigned Apex Legends experience that features tweaks to the original formula and exclusive mobile-only content to keep players coming back for more.

Those who jump in now can choose from ten Legends – including Wraith, Octane, Bloodhoud and Pathfinder – and dive into classic maps like World’s Edge and Kings Canyon, with more on the way. This is essentially the same Apex experience you get on PC and console, with gameplay rejigged slightly for those trickier, touch-based controls.

As the popularity mobile gaming rises in Western regions, this launch will certainly be one to watch. While games like Call of Duty Mobile and PUBG Mobile continue to dominate the mobile industry, there’s certainly room for competitors.

Apex Legends Mobile currently includes a number of major game modes like Battle Royale and Ranked Battles – both of which have proved to be wildly popular, but there are plans to include new content as the global rollout begins.

‘We do have mobile exclusive game modes, we do have new ways to play with your friends, and new ways to invest in and explore the world of Apex Legends,’ Jordan Patz, mobile design director on Apex Legends said during a recent developer panel (via VGC).

While information is still scarce, it appears there’s a ‘ton of new stuff’ on the way for the mobile adaptation, with plans for content to be revealed some time in May.

The worldwide rollout for Apex Legends Mobile is set to begin this month, finally bringing the game to every major region around the world. Should you be an existing player, expect to see a rise in avid players over the next few weeks.
