With flying motorcycles, weaponized supercars, and fighter jets, simply getting across Los Santos can sometimes feel like you’re entering a warzone. The good news is that GTA Online Imani Tech upgrades can make your vehicle much harder to destroy.
Available through the Agency Vehicle Workshop, Imani Tech lets you prevent homing missiles from locking onto your car or even drive it remotely. Even better, certain compatible vehicles can also get explosive-resistant Armor Plating, weapons, and Slick Proximity Mines — pretty cool, huh?
Here are all GTA Online Imani Tech vehicles, including which ones are worth buying and how the upgrades work. I promise you, by the end of this guide, you’ll be clued in on everything there is to know about the system.
All GTA Online Imani Tech vehicles
There are 20 core Imani Tech vehicles in GTA Online. All of them support either the Missile Lock-On Jammer or the Remote Control Unit, although you cannot use both upgrades simultaneously.
Most of these cars also support additional Imani Tech modifications like Armor Plating and Slick Proximity Mines. The original six vehicles introduced with The Contract are the only core Imani Tech models that can also receive front-mounted machine guns.

It’s worth noting that Rockstar repeatedly expanded Missile Lock-On Jammer compatibility, including 50 additional vehicles in The Kortz Center Heist update.
As of Aug. 27, 2026, 258 vehicles can use the Missile Lock-On Jammer. However, only 20 support both core Imani Tech options (i.e., the Missile Lock-On Jammer and Remote Control Unit). The other 238 do not support the Remote Control Unit, and most cannot receive Imani Tech Armor Plating, machine guns, or Slick Mines.
What is the best Imani Tech vehicle in GTA Online?
The Bravado Buffalo STX is arguably the best overall Imani Tech vehicle in GTA Online.
Besides having a 126-mph top speed and bullet-resistant windows, the 100% Armor and Armor Plating mean it takes 12 homing missiles or four RPGs, grenades, or sticky bombs to destroy it while occupied. The Missile Lock-On Jammer also makes landing those explosive hits considerably more difficult.
Although the front-facing machine guns are not really powerful against heavily armored vehicles, they are still useful against NPCs and vulnerable players. Slick Proximity Mines can also disrupt anyone attempting to chase you through traffic.
The Bravado Buffalo STX is available for GTA$2,150,000 from Southern San Andreas Super Autos, but you can also unlock its GTA$1,612,500 trade price after purchasing an Agency. This makes it much cheaper than the Dewbauchee Champion, despite offering similar defensive and offensive features.

Best GTA Online Imani Tech vehicles
The Buffalo STX might not be the right choice for everyone, as the “best GTA Online Imani Tech vehicle” really depends on what you value most. Here are some other great options:
| Imani Tech vehicle | Reasoning |
|---|---|
| Bravado Buffalo STX | Best overall vehicle: Fast, armored, weaponized, and seats four |
| Ocelot Virtue | Best value vehicle: Can be earned for free and has excellent explosive resistance |
| Grotti Stinger TT | Fastest vehicle: Reaches 132 mph normally or 168.5 mph with HSW |
| Bravado Buffalo EVX | Best defensive HSW vehicle: Combines electric armor resistance with a 144.75 mph HSW top speed |
| Canis Terminus | Best off-road vehicle: Strong off-road performance without sacrificing armor or speed |
| Enus Jubilee | Best remote control vehicle: High-mounted machine guns and an inconspicuous SUV body |
| Declasse Granger 3600LX | Best passenger vehicle: Carries up to eight players |
| Annis 300R | Cheapest dealership vehicle: Costs GTA$1,245,000 before upgrades |
Ocelot Virtue: Best value Imani Tech vehicle
The Ocelot Virtue normally costs GTA$2,980,000 at Legendary Motorsport, but it can be earned for free as a one-time reward by hosting and completing all Last Dose missions after progressing through the First Dose storyline.
That makes it the cheapest Imani Tech vehicle in GTA Online. Once you add 100% Armor, Armor Plating, and the Missile Lock-On Jammer, the entire defensive build costs just GTA$600,000.
The Virtue is also electric, providing rapid acceleration and increased resistance to RPGs and sticky bombs. It lacks bullet-resistant windows, but its acceleration makes it pretty easy to escape players on foot.

Grotti Stinger TT: Fastest core Imani Tech vehicle
The Stinger TT has a tested top speed of 132 mph, making it the fastest GTA Online Imani Tech vehicle without HSW.
On PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and GTA Online Enhanced for PC, a GTA$1,418,000 HSW conversion increases that figure to about 168.5 mph. You can also combine HSW performance with Armor Plating and the Missile Lock-On Jammer, creating one of the fastest defensive vehicles in the game.
The only real weakness is its choppy handling, which can be a bit difficult to control at HSW speeds, especially through traffic or around tight corners.

Bravado Buffalo EVX: Best defensive HSW car
The Buffalo EVX provides a better balance between HSW speed and defensive usability, with its conversion raising its top speed from 119 mph to 144.75 mph.
Like the Stinger TT, it only seats two players, but its electric powertrain allows it to withstand considerably more RPGs and sticky bombs than most petrol-powered Imani Tech vehicles. It doesn’t have the Buffalo STX’s bullet-resistant windows or machine guns, but it still has excellent acceleration.

How much does a full GTA Online Imani Tech build cost?
The price displayed by Legendary Motorsport or Southern San Andreas Super Autos is only part of the investment. You also need to account for the property, workshop, and individual vehicle modifications.
The cheapest complete defensive setup uses the free Ocelot Virtue alongside the Little Seoul Agency. Here’s a quick cost breakdown:
| Build component | Cost |
|---|---|
| Little Seoul Agency | GTA$2,010,000 |
| Agency Vehicle Workshop | GTA$800,000 |
| Ocelot Virtue | Free |
| 100% Armor Upgrade | GTA$50,000 |
| Imani Tech Armor Plating | GTA$150,000 |
| Missile Lock-On Jammer | GTA$400,000 |
| Total build cost | GTA$3,410,000 |
You can earn the Ocelot Virtue as a one-time reward by hosting and completing all Last Dose missions after progressing through the First Dose storyline.
If you don’t want to complete those missions, the GTA$1,245,000 Annis 300R is the cheapest core Imani Tech vehicle available from a dealership. Substituting it for the free Virtue raises the total starting cost to GTA$4,655,000.
For comparison, equipping the Buffalo STX with 100% Armor, Armor Plating, the Missile Lock-On Jammer, machine guns, and Slick Mines costs GTA$1,032,000 in specialist upgrades. This figure does not include the Agency, Vehicle Workshop, vehicle purchase price, or cosmetic and performance modifications.

What is Imani Tech in GTA Online?
Imani Tech is a collection of specialist vehicle modifications introduced through The Contract update in December 2021.
It is named after Imani, the Agency’s resident hacker, and was initially limited to six vehicles. However, Rockstar has since added 14 more GTA Online Imani Tech vehicles and expanded Missile Lock-On Jammer compatibility to hundreds of existing models.
The feature is primarily designed for Freemode and gives players driving otherwise ordinary cars a way to survive against weaponized vehicles without requiring a tank, aircraft, or military vehicle.
All Imani Tech upgrades and prices
| Upgrade | Price | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Missile Lock-On Jammer | GTA$400,000 | Prevents homing weapons from locking onto the vehicle |
| Remote Control Unit | GTA$235,000 | Lets you remotely operate your current personal vehicle |
| Armor Plating | GTA$150,000 | Increases explosive resistance on compatible vehicles |
| Primary Weapons | GTA$297,000 | Adds front-mounted machine guns |
| Slick Proximity Mines | GTA$135,000 | Drops oil slicks that temporarily reduce traction and can cause pursuing vehicles to lose control |
Note: The Missile Lock-On Jammer and Remote Control Unit are mutually exclusive. Installing one removes the other, and you will need to purchase the previous upgrade again if you decide to switch back. Armor Plating, machine guns, and Slick Mines can be combined with either of the two main upgrades when the vehicle supports them.

Missile Lock-On Jammer
The Missile Lock-On Jammer prevents Homing Launcher and vehicle-mounted homing missiles from automatically targeting you. This includes those used by the Oppressor Mk II and Deluxo.
It works passively and doesn’t need to be activated while you’re driving. However, it doesn’t make the vehicle entirely immune to damage. Other GTA players can still hit you with manually aimed missiles, RPGs, sticky bombs, explosive ammunition, or other weapons.
Remote Control Unit
The Remote Control Unit lets you drive your vehicle remotely through the Interaction Menu.
To activate it, your vehicle must be outside and nearby. While controlling it, your character is hidden from the radar, and you can use any installed machine guns or detonate the vehicle remotely. The main limitation is its fixed first-person camera. You can only look forward, which makes reversing and moving through tight spaces more difficult.
Armor Plating
Imani Tech Armor Plating costs GTA$150,000 and is separate from the regular 100% Armor Upgrade.
When both are installed and the vehicle is occupied, most compatible cars require 12 homing missiles to be destroyed. Petrol-powered vehicles normally need four RPGs or sticky bombs, but electric cars can survive as many as 11 since they lack a fuel tank. Resistance is roughly halved when nobody is inside the vehicle.
Primary Weapons and Slick Mines
Primary Weapons add front-mounted machine guns and are only available on the Buffalo STX, Champion, Deity, Granger 3600LX, Jubilee, and Patriot Mil-Spec. Slick Proximity Mines release oil onto the road, causing affected vehicles to temporarily lose steering and braking control. They don’t directly damage vehicles or players.
How to unlock Imani Tech in GTA Online
To unlock Imani Tech, purchase a Celebrity Solutions Agency from Dynasty 8 Executive and add the Vehicle Workshop upgrade. Prices range from GTA$2,010,000 to GTA$2,830,000, while the workshop costs GTA$800,000 regardless of location.
Once installed, take a compatible vehicle into your Agency garage and enter the workshop. You should see the available Imani Tech modifications under the customization categories.
GTA+ members can also install upgrades through the Vinewood Club Garage on supported platforms. After applying an upgrade, you can store the vehicle in any personal garage. It does not need to remain inside the Agency.

Is Imani Tech connected to Hao’s Special Works?
Imani Tech and Hao’s Special Works are separate vehicle upgrade systems.
Imani Tech focuses on defense, weapons, and remote control. By contrast, HSW is a performance service located inside the LS Car Meet that improves top speed, acceleration, braking, and handling.
Some vehicles like Buffalo EVX, La Coureuse, MonstroCiti, and Stinger TT support both core Imani Tech and HSW upgrades. In these cases, you can combine the systems, meaning a vehicle can have HSW performance improvements alongside a Missile Lock-On Jammer or Remote Control Unit.
Just remember that HSW is only available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and GTA Online Enhanced for PC.

GTA Online Imani Tech FAQs
Is Imani Tech worth it?
Yes, especially if you regularly play in public sessions. The Missile Lock-On Jammer removes one of the main advantages held by Oppressor Mk II and Deluxo users, while Armor Plating provides enough explosive resistance to escape most attacks.
Does Imani Tech stop Oppressor Mk II missiles?
The Missile Lock-On Jammer prevents an Oppressor Mk II from automatically targeting your vehicle. Its missiles can still damage you if the player aims and fires them manually.
Can you use the Remote Control Unit and Missile Lock-On Jammer together?
No. You must choose between the Remote Control Unit and Missile Lock-On Jammer. Installing one replaces the other.
Can Imani Tech vehicles use HSW upgrades?
The Buffalo EVX, La Coureuse, MonstroCiti, and Stinger TT support both core Imani Tech and HSW modifications. Numerous jammer-only vehicles can also receive HSW upgrades.
What is the fastest Imani Tech vehicle?
The Grotti Stinger TT is the fastest vehicle with the core Imani Tech system. It reaches 132 mph normally or approximately 168.5 mph with HSW.
What is the cheapest Imani Tech vehicle?
The Ocelot Virtue is the cheapest because it can be earned for free by completing all First Dose and Last Dose missions as the host. The Annis 300R is the cheapest core Imani Tech vehicle available directly from a dealership at GTA$1,245,000.
Do you need an Agency for Imani Tech?
Most players need an Agency and its GTA$800,000 Vehicle Workshop. GTA+ members can also apply compatible upgrades through the Vinewood Club Garage.
Can aircraft use Imani Tech?
Many aircraft can use the Missile Lock-On Jammer, but they do not receive the core Imani Tech package. Eligible aircraft are modified through an owned Hangar’s Aircraft Workshop rather than an Agency.
