Persona 3 Reload, the long-awaited remake of the classic Atlus RPG, is officially launching on 2 February 2024. The news was announced alongside early previews for the game, which mostly praised its faithfulness to the original, and its improved visuals.
Game Informer called the upcoming release ‘a dream come true’ for Persona fans, thanks to its quality-of-life tweaks, dazzling graohics, and improvements to combat. The ability to directly control your party members directly – something that was only introduced in later Persona games was also called out as a welcome feature that enables the game to feel fresh, even for returning players.
IGN shared similar impressions, praising its ‘radically improved visuals’ that better align the game with the detailed ‘pop art’ style of Persona 5. The game’s animations, artwork, and cast were also called out as notable high points. While IGN did note the remake lacks many of the improvements implemented in the FES re-release of Persona 3, which added in a range of additional features and characters, these were not enough to dampen the experience.
Over on Kotaku, writer Kenneth Shepard also noted Reload‘s stunning visuals, calling it a ‘stylistic visual powerhouse’. While Shepard was less impressed with the decision to remake the music of the game, he still described the renewed adventure as a ‘delight’.

It appears players new and returning to the world of Persona 3 will have plenty to look forward to when Atlus launches its remake in early 2024.
As well as revealing new details via gameplay previews, Atlus has also released more details about the upcoming digital and physical release of the game. There will be a number of special editions available for keen players, with a special physical collector’s editions offering exclusive merchandise, and extra content for the game.
Here’s the rundown of every Persona 3 Reload release edition:
- Standard Edition (US $70) – Includes the base game, plus a preorder bonus of a Persona 4 Golden Music Pack.
- Digital Deluxe Edition (US $80) – Includes the base game, the P4G preorder bonus, plus a digital art book and soundtrack.
- Digital Premium Edition (US $100)– Includes the base game, the P4G preorder bonus, a digital art book and soundtrack, plus the Persona 3 Reload DLC pack which includes eight unique costume and accessory sets.
- Reload Aigis Edition (US $200) – A physical collector’s edition including the base game, the P4G preorder bonus, a digital art book and soundtrack, and the Persona 3 Reload DLC pack which includes eight unique costume and accessory sets, as well as a figure of Aigis, a physical art book, and a two-disc soundtrack.
