A new month means a new Humble Choice bundle, with a fresh selection of games to hoard for your Steam library (and hopefully play, one day, maybe, definitely). After a few quieter months, we’re very pleased to report the latest Humble Choice offering is a banger, and that the goths amongst us will be very happy with the selection.
Whether by choice or coincidence, the latest bundle for subscribers is filled with gothic adventures, from horror tales to spooky, supernatural stories. Not all of the games fit this vibe, but there’s a fair few that do, colouring this latest bundle with a lovely sense of edginess.
The headliner of the bunch is The Thaumaturge. This is a story-driven RPG all about a detective who must face off against the forces of evil, as he uses his mystical skills to fight against demons. It was under-appreciated on launch in 2024, and certainly deserves your attention as part of Humble Choice.
Next up is Amnesia: The Bunker, which leans much more heavily into horror themes. In this first-person adventure, you must contend with the terror of World War I, while also escaping the slashing claws of a bloodthirsty monster.
Continuing these monstrous themes, but with a lighter tone, Evil West is also included in the bundle. This is a gothic western tale where you take on a variety of monstrosities as a bounty hunter powered by all sorts of sci-fi weaponry. If you love tales in the vein of Darkwatch, Vampire Hunter D, or even From Dusk Till Dawn, you’ll taste a familiar flavour here.
Read: Evil West owes a lot to the Gothic Western genre
Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew is also included in this month’s Humble Choice bundle. This is a gothic pirate adventure where you corral a ghost crew in strategic battles across the ocean.
Rounding out the gothic offerings is Corpse Keeper, which is a “side-scrolling action-strategy roguelite” with “challenging skill-based combat that demands precision.” Most importantly for the theme of this bundle, it’s got a “dark, unsettling atmosphere” and is positively riddled with black magic and creepy beasties.
In addition to these games, there are three other, slightly less gothic titles included in the latest Humble Choice bundle. These are: Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, an adventure inspired by the golden era of JRPGs, Star Wars: Bounty Hunter, an adventure game starring Jango Fett, and Ultros, a Lovecraftian sci-fi adventure where you’ll travel through a “giant, space-drifting cosmic uterus.”
Anyone who subscribes to Humble Choice in May 2025 will nab codes for all of these included games, as well as discounts on the Humble store. As an added bonus, 5% of your Humble Choice membership will go towards charity organisations.
For those in Australia, Humble Choice costs AUD $16.95 per month. To learn more about Humble Choice, head to the Humble Bundle website.
