Want to be the first to play the Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta? You’ll have to cough up the cash

Right out of the gate, it looks like Infinity Ward is listening to a bunch of player feedback ahead of Modern Warfare 4’s launch, refining a plethora of different aspects that most will hopefully be happy with.

Just like every year, though, there will be an Open Beta for you to try out any of these changes, but if you want to get in earlier than the rest, you’ll have to get your wallet out.

How to play the Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta early

If you’re a religious Call of Duty player who has to buy the new iteration every year, there’s no question that being among the first to play Modern Warfare 4 before its release date will be right up there on your list of things to do.

While you can wait for the Open Beta to go live for all the common folk, you can secure access ahead of time by doing one simple thing – pre-ordering MW4.

You can pre-order any copy of the game to receive Open Beta early access, and if you opt for a physical edition, you should receive a code which you’ll redeem via your respective platform’s store. Digital pre-orders shouldn’t require a code, but this hasn’t been explicitly stated so far.

At this current moment, the Open Beta dates, or how many additional days of time you’ll get for pre-ordering, haven’t been announced, but based on previous iterations, it’s likely you’ll receive 48-72 hours.

Now, if you want to potentially get out of actually having to part with your cash ahead of MW4’s Open Beta, there could be a sneaky gray area you can exploit.

We’re not advising anyone to do this, but you may be able to cancel your physical pre-order after receiving and redeeming the aforementioned code, depending on your retailer, and not have any money leave your account.

Again, we’re not telling you to do this, just something to think about…
