Prepare for more facehugging as Alien: Isolation 2 is all but confirmed by new teaser

It looks like we are getting a whole lot more Alien: Isolation goodness, thanks to new social teases on the original game’s X account.

The post comes with a 25-second teaser trailer, strongly suggesting we could be getting a direct sequel to the first game.

Alien: Isolation 2 looks to be in development

The quick clip of what appears to be Alien: Isolation 2 shows off a locked lab door, which then opens. On the other side, a jungle canopy reveals itself, with it raining outside. It gives a hint that there’s some sort of underground lab in a remote area.

To me, that seems like it got some inspiration from the Alien: Earth TV series, given how that premise takes place in a lab several hundred years into the future. It could be a good tie-in with the show renewed for another season, but not directly related to the events that occur.

If we follow on from the narrative of the first game, we know you escaped the space station with the alien on it. It’s very possible the new threat could be the same alien which got captured, or from a completely different one altogether. Again, just speculation as we have nothing to go on so far.

Creative Assembly is alos hiring for roles for the Alien Isolation sequel too. There’s a new job for game design director, wortking on the survival and Isolation team.

What we do know is that Alien: Isolation has been dormant since 2015, after its last major DLC update. That’s likely largely due to Creative Assembly working on other games in the Warhammer franchise and the odd historical Total War since then.

But given the new trailer, it shows that CA is, and has been, back working on an Alien game once again. The studio could theoretically run dev on an Alien game if it wanted to, with fantasy on Warhammer 40K, and historical on Medieval 3, which is in very early production.

Sega also stated in its Q3 financial report covering the period from October 2025 to December 2025, the company’s plans are “to release four major new titles for mainstay IPs.”

It’s hard to properly quantify what it means by this. But considering we’ve had announcements for Warhammer, Persona, Sonic, Alien could be the 4th in that one, along with all the other classics like Ecco the Dolphin that it is working on the side.

In addition, the Alien: Isolation trademark was updated in 2025. That’s possibly down to the ten-year cycle trademarks tend to have, lining up with it renewing since the 2015 DLC released. But it could also be renewing the IP thanks to this new teaser trailer.
