On the face of it, Dave the Diver might look like one of those pixelated games that doesn’t have the ability to reel you in for hours on end. However, once you play it, you’ll realize it has serious depth, in more ways than one.
So much so that a fully fledged DLC is here for the game, named In The Jungle, and if you want to get cracking on Dave’s next escapades, you’ll need to know how to boot it up.
How to start the Dave the Diver: In The Jungle DLC
Whether you’ve dabbled in a bit of Dave the Diver before or are new to the experience, In The Jungle is a fantastic addition to the game that needs to be played.
If you want to actually get into the fresh content, there is a strong recommendation that you complete the base game, as In The Jungle takes place after the events of the main story.
This will take around 20-25 hours, but if you don’t want to do that, you can actually just start the DLC by beginning a new game, and opting to play the additional content from the main menu.
This means you won’t have any of the important upgrades, though, which are pretty vital for progressing through, so keep that in mind.
If you are, however, choosing to play through the original story, you’ll get a post-game visit from a familiar face to kick things off.
It’s Dr. Bacon who will make an appearance, stating something strange has happened in the jungle, and he’d like you to go along to check it out together.
If the cutscene doesn’t show up for you, maybe try a quick dive to see if it appears, or reload your save, and you should be good.
After speaking with Dr. Bacon, you’ll then have to try to convince Bancho at the sushi restaurant to come along for the ride. Once this dialogue sequence takes place, all you have to do then is call Dr. Bacon back up.

Upon doing so, you’ll then be presented with the options of ‘I’m ready’ or ‘Not yet…’. Obviously, picking the former will begin the DLC content for real, with the latter allowing you some more time to consider.
This is your point of no return, though. Once you do confirm you’re good to go, you won’t be able to come back.
