The sports betting revenue and handle in Massachusetts has dipped in June 2025 – with both sections at their lowest so far in the first half of 2025.
Massachusetts Betting Revenue Down In June 2025, But Up From June 2024
It’s been reported that online sports betting in Massachusetts produced $61.6m in revenue for June 2025 – which is the lowest figure from all the months so far this year.
The figure was for both the online and retail activity in Massachusetts – while, despite being the lowest monthly figure in 2025, the state did say it’s up from June 2024.
This Massachusetts handle and betting revenue was up 53.3% from this time last year but dropped 23.1% below May 2025. Plus, the June 2025 figure was the lowest reported since December 2024 – when the revenue was $57.5m.
Of the June 2025 Massachusetts betting revenue it was the online sports betting division that made up the bulk of the figure ($61.6m), with retail responsible for only $474,426 – according to statistics published from the Massachusetts Gaming Commission.
Sportsbook customers wagered a total of $532.7m in June 2025 – this was reported to be 4.6% higher than the June year-on-year figure, but still 18.8% behind May.
This overall figure meant a monthly hold of 11.66% for Massachusetts.
DraftKings The Dominant Force In Massachusetts
In terms of operators in Massachusetts it’s all about DraftKings once more – with the online sports betting site way out in front.
The top US betting site issued $31.4m revenue from a $266.1m handle – which left a hold of 11.80%.
Next best came FanDuel with a $17.4m revenue from a $139m handle and a 11.35% hold.
Fanatics were in the bronze place for June, when it came to the Massachusetts June betting revenue figures with $4.6m from $37.8m and a 12.17% hold.
ESPN Bet, Caesars and Bally Bet were the other operators that filled the top spots.
The land-based Massachusetts sportsbooks were led by Plainridge Park Casino with £243,665 from a $2.3m handle and a 10.49% hold.
With Encore Boston and MGM Springfield the others that made the top three retail venues in the state for June.
Land-Based Casino Revenue Hits $97.7m For June In Massachusetts
Finally, the land-based casino revenue in June 2025 hit $97.7m, which was made up of $68.4m from slot machines and $29.3m from the table game offerings.
The already mentioned Encore Boston Harbour topped the land-based figures with $60.2m in revenue – with MGM Springfield and Plainridge Park Casino in second and third.
Massachusetts Collected $40.3m In Tax Due To Their June Betting Revenue
As a result of the Massachusetts June betting revenue figures, the state generated $40.3m in tax – which was split by $27.9m from casino gaming and $12.4m from sports betting.
