Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is now available to pre-order, with early buyers getting access to a special closed beta ahead of launch.
Gameplay Group International and Paramount Games Studio announced the news during EVO, confirming digital pre-orders are now open on PlayStation 5, XboS, and PC via Steam. The game is set to launch on July 23, 2026, with a Nintendo Switch version also planned for day one, while a Nintendo Switch 2 edition and physical release are due later in the year.
Based on both Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra, Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is pitching itself as a fast, expressive fighter built around elemental bending and familiar characters from across the series. The developers say the aim is to create something that works for fighting game regulars while still being approachable for Avatar fans.
Players who pre-order will receive access to the closed beta, which runs from July 2-5. Pre-order bonuses also include gold colour variants for Aang, Korra, Zuko, Katara, Toph, and Sokka, alongside a Samurai Appa support character skin.
A Deluxe Edition will also be available, adding a digital art book, soundtrack, unique HUDs, and the Year 1 Pass. That pass includes Bolin, Ty Lee, Lin Beifong, Uncle Iroh, and one more character that will be decided by a community vote.
The vote will be open only to players who pre-order Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game, and is set to begin in late summer. Fans will be able to choose between five potential roster additions: Amon, Kuvira, Bumi, Asami, and Tenzin.
That is a pretty strong shortlist, to be fair. Amon would bring a darker Legend of Korra edge to the roster, Kuvira feels like an obvious fit for a metalbending-heavy moveset, and Tenzin would add another major airbending presence. Bumi and Asami are also interesting picks for different reasons, with the former bringing classic Avatar shenanigans and the latter offering a non-bending, tech-focused fighting style.
Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game will launch with full cross-play support across its initial platforms. The Standard Edition is priced at $29.99.
A physical edition, published by PM Studios, will arrive later in 2026, alongside the Nintendo Switch 2 version. Both Standard and Deluxe Editions are planned for collectors and fans who would rather have something on the shelf.
