Diablo IV’s second expansion, Lord of Hatred, arrives on April 28 for PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. This one drags Mephisto back into the spotlight, adds the new Skovos region, introduces Paladin and Warlock classes, and brings a stack of tweaks aimed at giving the endgame a bit more bite.
Early word has been pretty strong, especially around the campaign, with some critics calling it the darkest Diablo story so far. The new classes and late-game improvements seem to be doing a fair bit of heavy lifting too.
I’ll be honest, I played an absurd amount of Diablo IV when it first came out, but as the seasons rolled on, it slipped off my radar. I’m wondering if LoH might be what brings a few of us lapsed demon fiddlers back in.
Like Vessel of Hatred before it, Lord of Hatred is a full-priced expansion, starting at $39.99. There are four editions in total, with the pricier versions mostly adding cosmetics, mounts, Platinum, and other extras. Fundamentally, though, you’re buying access to the same expansion, so it really comes down to how badly you want the shiny bits.
