PlayStation is often updating its latest console with fun new features, and the latest beta preview is no different. Available tomorrow for those in the PlayStation system software beta, DualSense and DualSense Edge controllers can now be paired across multiple devices simultaneously, according to an official PlayStation Blog post.
How to Pair Your DualSense With A Device
As you may already know, you can set up a PS5 DualSense wireless controller with Mac, PC, and mobile devices via Bluetooth. While this is an excellent cross-functional feature, it can be unpleasant if you constantly switch between console and PC, as you must manually pair the device each time.
To sync a DualSense, hold down the PS Button and the Share button simultaneously to put it in pairing mode. You’ll know the DualSense is in pairing mode when it’s blinking rapidly. Then, pair it to your device using its Bluetooth settings. You can also connect it to your PS5, PC, or Mac using a USB-C cable.

However, PlayStation’s new update registers up to four devices per DualSense. Here’s how:
- Make sure your controller is off.
- Press and hold one of the face buttons (X, O, etc.) as well as the PS button for over five seconds. The light bar will flash.
- Add your PS5 DualSense controller using the device’s Bluetooth settings.
Now, for swapping paired devices.
How to Swap Paired Devices
You can pair your DualSense with up to four devices, each corresponding to one of the face buttons. For example, you may have your PC paired to the Square button, and your PS5 paired to the Triangle button.
To connect to a paired device, press and hold one of the face buttons with the PS button, and release the buttons when your DualSense blinks. It will then indicate which device your DualSense is connected to with one, two, three, or four lights similar to how it indicates if you’re player 1, 2, 3, or 4 when playing with multiple people.
When Will the PS5 DualSense Update Be Released?
This update is significant, especially considering you can use DualSense features with the PC ports of PlayStation games. It will be available to beta players tomorrow, July 23, and to everyone else in the coming months.
