NateTheHate2, a prominent leaker known for predicting the release of the Switch 2, has reaffirmed that a Nintendo Switch 2 Direct is still scheduled for July.
Leaker Reconfirms Nintendo Switch 2 Direct for July
When asked about news regarding a Starfield PlayStation 5 port on X, another user asked NateTheHate2 if a Direct is still happening in July, to which Nate replied, “To my knowledge.”

Initially, Nate revealed on his podcast that Nintendo would most likely hold a direct after Donkey Kong: Bananza launches to give that game the shine it deserves. This is the news that he’s reaffirming in the Twitter/X post mentioned above.
As for the Starfield news Nate was asked about, Microsoft has been porting its games to PlayStation in an attempt to generate additional revenue amidst a slew of brutal layoffs. The Venom news is based on an Insomniac leak from 2023, which revealed a cancelled multiplayer Spider-Man game alongside a potential leaked Venom spin-off.
Post-Bananza Switch 2 Direct News
Of course, one could reasonably assume that Nintendo was waiting for Donkey Kong: Bananza to launch before holding another Switch 2 Direct. After all, we’re still waiting on more news about Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and the Kirby Air Riders sequel, both of which are scheduled for 2025. It’s likely we’ll receive these dates and more in July’s assumed Direct.
That said, we’re not entirely in the dark. Today, during a Pokémon Presents stream, we learned that Pokémon Legends: Z-A would be coming to Switch 2 on October 16th alongside a bundle with the console, amongst other information.
If all of these games happen to release this year, alongside Mario Kart World, gamers are surely in for a treat. The Nintendo Switch 2 is already breaking sales records in Japan, and a steady supply of top-tier games could lead to it becoming the best-selling console of all time — a record long-held by the PlayStation 2.
However, it’s important to note that Bonanza and World are the only two Switch 2 exclusive games that we’re aware of at this time. Prime 4 and Pokémon Legends are also coming to the first Switch. While many are likely to upgrade to the Switch 2 for an enhanced gaming experience, others may stick with the original hardware to play these highly anticipated titles.
