Hou je van games die helemaal om het verhaal draaien? Let dan even op, want over vier dagen wordt er een nieuwe Life is Strange-game bekendgemaakt. Op het officiële Instagram-account van de serie staat het moment daarvoor op 20 januari om 19.00 uur Nederlandse tijd. Daarbij staat ook de boodschap “Separate the real from the rumor”. Dat lijkt een verwijzing naar een recente PEGI-classificatie, waarbij de mogelijke titel en details over het verhaal gelekt leken te zijn.<\/p>

\"Life<\/figure>

Deze details zijn uitgelekt – als ze kloppen<\/h2>

Er is net een teaser uitgebracht voor de nieuwe titel<\/strong><\/a>, en die hint op de terugkeer van Max Caulfield. Dat is de hoofdpersoon uit de eerste Life is Strange, de Remastered Collection en Double Exposure uit 2024. En de (inmiddels verwijderde) PEGI-classificatie suggereerde dat Chloe Price haar opwachting maakt. Zij is een van Max’ romantische interesses in het originele spel, en was voor het laatst te zien in de prequel Before the Storm<\/strong><\/a> uit 2017.<\/p>

In de gelekte PEGI-samenvatting zou te zien zijn dat de nieuwe game Life is Strange Reunion gaat heten. Daarin stond ook dat het verlies van Chloe Max’ grootste spijt is. Nu is Chloe aangekomen op Caledon University, waar ze wordt geplaagd door nachtmerries en Max’ hulp nodig heeft. Tegelijkertijd zit Max zelf in een crisis, omdat hij weet dat de campus over drie dagen door een dodelijke brand verwoest zal worden.<\/p>

Over de Life is Strange-reeks<\/h2>

Life is Strange is een verhalende gameserie, waarin je met je keuzes de richting van het verhaal en de relaties tussen personages bepaalt. Het originele spel bevatte bijvoorbeeld de keuze om Chloe wel of niet te zoenen terwijl je als Max speelt.<\/p>

Volgens het PEGI-lek bevat Life is Strange Reunion zo’n keuze, waarbij je op een feest wijn aangeboden krijgt waar iets raars in zit. Je kunt besluiten een slok te nemen of niet. Als je dat wél doet, krijg je hallucinaties – later blijkt dat je onder invloed van paddo’s bent.<\/p>

De gelekte PEGI-classificatie dook eerder deze maand op op de subreddit GamingLeaksAndRumors. Opvallend genoeg stond daar een releasedatum van 27 maart 2025 bij, en dat is natuurlijk niet gebeurd. Het is mogelijk dat daar eigenlijk 27 maart 2026 had moeten staan, maar dat weten we pas zeker na de officiële onthulling.<\/p>
