What you’ll do

As a Software Engineer you will be responsible for helping the team automate, standardize, modernize, and support the creation of environments by streamlining and automating route tasks such as software deployments and upgrades.

Some responsibilities include:

  • Perform deployments and troubleshoot issues
  • Adopt DevOps techniques and standard technologies
  • Contribute to the development, customisation, and maintenance of automation frameworks
  • Provide technical guidance in the automation, participate in design reviews, architecture discussions, testability aspects of the software with respect to automation and recommend improvements
  • Assist in troubleshooting and debugging to find the root cause of the automation issues and provide detailed information
  • Promoting the established automation processes across the team as well as seeking opportunities to streamline and improve quality and consistency and drive down delivery times
  • Build tools to reduce occurrences of errors and improve customer experience

What we’re looking for

  • Experience in a DevOps role
  • A Computer Science or Software Engineering or equivalent degree would be highly regarded
  • Hands-on experience with automation and deployment tools such as Dockers and Puppet
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, WSO2 and/or Windows IIS
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring tool such as Nagios
  • Experience with Python, Ruby, Java and scripting in general is a plus
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
